MONSTA X are masters at dropping amazing cover versions

As the MONSTA X ‘We Are Here’ 2019 World Tour continues to wind its way around the globe, Monbebes in Australia are getting more and more excited as the Australian leg of the tour draws ever closer.

With thanks to Frontier TouringMONSTA X will be performing in Sydney on June 5 2019 at the ICC Sydney Theatre and Melbourne on June 9 2019 at the Margaret Court Arena.

We all know how amazing their own musical back catalogue is, but have you ever sat down and taken a listen to their cover versions (and their collaborations). They are astounding, and they manage to make them sound as good, if not better than the original in some cases.

Here’s our list of some of our favourite MONSTA X cover versions with a couple of collaboration tracks thrown in for good measure.

MONSTA X ‘Mirotic’

This iconic K-pop song was originally released by TVXQ in 2008. MONSTA X make it sound as fresh and vibrant (and sexy) as the original.

MONSTA X ‘Versace on the Floor’

We all know that this was a massive hit for Bruno Mars, but I actually prefer the MONSTA X version. Jooheon where did those vocals come from? We know you’re an awesome rapper, but WOW. (Apologies for the relatively poor quality of the clip, the original from Yoo Hee Yeol‘s Sketchbook is not allowed to be shared on other sites.)

MONSTA X ‘Moves Like Jagger’

When MONSTA X performed Maroon 5‘s ‘Moves Like Jagger‘ at KCON LA in 2016, the entire audience lost their minds, and with good reason! They proved beyond a doubt that they can cover any song in English and give it as much swag as if they were singing it in their native Korean.

MONSTA X + SEVENTEEN + Wanna One ‘Again and Again’

Not only was this a cover version of 2PM‘s ‘Again and Again‘, it was also a collaboration with members of SEVENTEEN and Wanna One. The song is as fresh and vibrant as if it was an original release.

MONSTA X + GOT7 ‘Fantastic Baby’

We don’t know anyone who doesn’t love BIGBANG, and this track has iconic choreography that goes along with the song. MONSTA X and GOT7 just nail it and completely own the stage with this version.

MONSTA X will be in Australia in in just over a week – and the hype is intensifying at unprecedented levels right now.
