Yes, that is right. With the controversy arising in 2018 regarding Kang Sung Hoon, it looks like he has decided to leave SECHSKIES and YG Entertainment.

In particular, on January 1st, he took to Hoony World to give his official statement. It says the following:

“With the unexpected misunderstandings that have come up, I have become even more cautious about expressing my official stance. Right now, I can’t predict when my return will be due to my mental health issues. I have spoken to YG Entertainment, and we came to a mutual agreement to end my exclusive contract on December 31st, 2018 and thus for me to let go of all my SECHSKIES’ activities. I am sorry for not living up to expectations of fans who have been waiting for me and those who have greeted and remembered me. I sincerely apologize to SECHSKIES for the damages they had to suffer due to the misunderstandings. I also want to sincerely thank everyone who continued to support him as SECHSKIES’ Kang Sunghoon. I want to ask you to continue to show your support for SECHSKIES in the future. Once again, I’m sorry and thank you.”

We wish them all the best in the future.
