iKON goes retro with ‘But You’

By  |

iKON recently made their first comeback in more than 12months with the release of their new mini-album ‘Flashback‘ and the title track ‘But You‘.

But You‘ is a celebration of all things retro – and we love it. The opening of the song is a wall of synths, which sets you up for what is to come, but they continue through the song to give the track a consistent and stable base. It’s quite a departure for the group, who we’re more used to hearing hard-nosed hip-hop from. But, we think the melodic pop-synth style suits them.

With lyrics by member Bobby, ‘But You‘ reimagines ’80s pop music with a modern. fresher sound. Creating a retro atmosphere, the lyrics honestly confess the feelings of being unable to forget a lover after breaking up.
