Iconic Asian rock band MAYDAY are visiting Australia in May 2023

Mayday 五月天 are one of the most iconic bands in Asia, with a fan base that stretches far and wide. Known for their powerful vocals and electrifying performances, the band has captured the hearts of millions with their unique blend of rock, pop, and ballads.

Live Nation & Chinatown Cinema Corp are proud to present Mayday 五月天’s highly anticipated tour in Australia in 2023. Australian fans will get a chance to witness the legendary Asian rock band as they perform at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday 10th May and Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Saturday 13th May.

This will be Mayday 五月天’s fifth time touring Australia, and fans can expect another night filled with high-energy music, stunning visuals, and unforgettable memories. The band promises to bring their best to the stage, and fans can look forward to hearing their most beloved songs, including OAOA, and Stubborn.

The quintet — Vocalist Ashin, leader and guitarist Monster, rhythm guitarist Stone, bassist Masa and drummer Ming– met while attending high school in Taipei. Mayday have released 9 studio albums, have toured globally and their last international tour featured six sold-out shows in Hong Kong, with stops in Asia and the United States.

MAYDAY ‘Song For You’

Mayday has won more than 150 music awards worldwide, including the MTV Video Music Awards Japanthe Best Buzz Asia Award for Greater China Act, and the Best Band at the sixth Singapore Hit Awards, and has set records in the Taiwanese music industry by winning a total of 12 Golden Melody Awards, including 4 Best Band awards; Mayday also won the Best Mandarin Album, Best Music Arrangement, Best Composition, Producer of the Year, Album, Best Music Video and Song of the Year for their ‘Second Round’ album in 2012.

Mayday has consistently set world records for Asian artists. Recently, they performed to 3 sold out crowds at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and Barclays Center in New York. Over the course of four years, they have performed to sold out crowds at the Bird’s Nest in Beijing, China, playing to a total of 1.3 million audience members across 13 concerts. Mayday was also the first Chinese band to perform at Madison Square Garden in New York; and later at the O2 Arena in London and the Accor hotels Arena in France. Mayday was invited to perform at YouTube’s headquarters in San Francisco, USA, where the 60-minute concert was broadcast live online worldwide, making Mayday the first Chinese music band to perform live on YouTube.
