BLACKPINK have released their new single “The Girls”. It’s their first music since releasing the record-breaking U.S #1 album BORN PINK.

Empowering and upbeat, “The Girls” debuted on BLACKPINK’s THE GAME — their hugely popular mobile game. This new song celebrates the quartet’s unstoppable rise to the top and perfectly encapsulates their defiant, fun-loving attitude.

According to Korea Times, members Rosé and Jennie also helped co-write and co-compose the song, which is about “the importance of being independent and courageous.”

“Stop sign, we burning it down,” BLACKPINK sings over bouncy beats on the addictive chorus. “Better watch out, we coming in loud.” The hitmakers then fire off a warning: “Bang bang! Just playing around, don’t mess with the girls with the girls with the girls.” JISOOJENNIEROSÉ, and LISA are known for their innovative videos (they have a record 90M YouTube subscribers) and “The Girls” is no exception.

The enormous success of BORN PINK is just the latest achievement in what has been a meteoric ascent for the K-pop group. After releasing global hits like “How You Like That” and their song with Selena Gomez “Ice Cream,” BLACKPINK released THE ALBUM in 2020 to universal acclaim. The project debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 ,UK Official Chart, and ARIA Album Chart in Australia. THE ALBUM sold more than 1.4 million copies worldwide, making BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group to sell over a million units.

With “The Girls”, BLACKPINK begins a new chapter as the group continues to win new fans the world over.
